BRIEF INTRODUCTION

In 1990, The Department of Traditional Mongolian Medicine was established by the National Medical University of Mongolia and Professor N. Tumurbaatar, who is an honored doctor and neurologist by training, was appointed as the head of the department.

Timeline of acupuncture training in Mongolia

 

       In 1957, the first batch of Mongolian doctors trained in China

       In 1958, an Acupuncture treatment room was established in the outpatient clinic of the First Central Hospital

       In 1977, Acupuncture training for Mongolian and foreign doctors was organized at the Acupuncture Department of the First Central Hospital.

       In 1989, the Department of Mongolian Traditional Medicine was established, and undergraduate training was begun at the Mongolian Medical University. Professors N. Tumurbaatar and S. Ulziisaikhan taught acupuncture.

       In 2000, the School of Traditional Medicine established and provided undergraduate, postgraduate, and graduate training

       In 2013, Launched a joint bachelor’s program with the Tianjin University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, PR China to train acupuncturists.
